Months after famous Brazilian singer and composer Gilberto Gil performed in Israel he announced plans to return for a second time and is scheduled to perform in Ranaana on July 24 with his six piece electric band in an evening dubbed "Gilberto Gil For All." Gil whose music career spans more than four decades, has released over 30 albums turning him into a legend worldwide. In the past he played with an array of artists in England including Bob Marley, Jimmy Cliff, Yes and Pink Floyd to name a few. Describing Israeli audiences as cheerful, Gil said he plans to play in the upcoming event songs in different styles including material from other Brazilian composers

Kuwaiti Singer Performs for Palestine Kuwaiti artist, Abdullah Ruwaished performed in a huge concert in the city of Nablus in the northern West Bank, last Thursday evening. More than 11 thousand people attended his performance. In an interview with "Al Arabia", Ruwaished expressed his joy to visit Palestine and closely learn about its cities and citizens, adding that he was moved to tears when he visited Jerusalem and prayed there, on Thursday morning.

Israel has announced plans to build nearly 300 additional homes in Jewish settlements in the occupied West Bank. For the Palestinians it has hardened their resolve to seek statehood from the UN. Tenders have been put out seeking builders to expand two settlements, outside Jerusalem and near Nablus.
