An arrest warrant has been issued for a man suspected of drawing anti-Semitic graffiti on the property of a Jewish institution in Brookline, authorities announced Wednesday. The Brookline Police Department alerted the public Monday that a person had graffitied the Chabad Center on Harvard Street over the weekend.

Aron Bielski is the youngest and last living member of the Bielski brigade, which he founded along with three of his brothers. Their activities have become widely known as one of the largest partisan groups that rescued Jews during the Holocaust. He was born on July 21, 1927, into the family of Davidand Beila Bielski, who had 10 sons and two daughters, in what is today Belarus.

Herman Schafer brought his bride, Rosa Goldsmith, to their home in Mount Airy in 1888, they were the only Jewish couple they knew of in the county.
