Ugandans in the diaspora have expressed concern over the increased cases of land grabbing back home. Meeting the Deputy Speaker of Parliament Thomas Tayebwa, Henrietta Wamala the President of Uganda North America Association (UNAA) complained that most people who lose their properties especially land to fraudsters and grabbers have failed to get assistance from the Ministry of Lands whenever they make requests.

Writing about the sacralization of politics, Shadi Hamid, for example, stated that on the left, the woke take religious notions such as original sin, atonement, ritual, and excommunication and repurpose them for secular ends; [while] on the right, adherents of a Trump-centric ethno-nationalism still drape themselves in some of the trappings of organized religion, but the result is a movement that often looks like a tent revival stripped of Christian witness.
