Amsterdams Stedelijk Museumsaid on Tuesday that it will return a Henri Matisse painting from the 1920s to the heirs of its former Jewish owner, who was forced to sell the artwork in the Netherlands during the Holocaust before being deported to a Nazi camp where he eventually died. The painting Odalisque has been in the collection of the Stedelijk Museum, which is owned by the Municipality of Amsterdam, since July 1941.
