Run to the Rock

PLYMOUTH The 19th annual Boys and Girls Club of Plymouths Run to the Rock 5K, 10K and half marathon starts at 9 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 7.

The race will again feature three difference racecourses, covering three distances and varied terrain. Prizes and trophies will be awarded. The 10K begins at the Boys and Girls Club, at 9 Resnik Road in Plymouth. The 5K begins at 10 Cordage Park Circle and the half marathon begins at College Pond in Myles Standish State Forest.

Friends of Scusset Beach race/walk

SAGAMORE BEACH The Friends of Scusset Beach will hold a certified and sanctioned (USATF) 5K road race/walk at 9 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 7, from Scusset Beach State Reservation along the scenic and historic Cape Cod Canal. All proceeds from the race will go directly to the nonprofit Friends of Scusset Beach and 100 percent is reinvested into the Reservation through efforts to enhance and beautify the park and to increase recreational opportunities for people of all capabilities.

The race/walk will offer water stations, first aid, computer chip timing and a closed course. T-shirts will be available for those who register online. Tickets for a Pot of Gold raffle are also being sold. Parking is free to race participants.

Meet at the jetty parking lot at Scusset Beach State Reservation, located at 20 Scusset Beach Road in Sagamore Beach. The registration fee is $25.
