NEW YORK United Methodist Women, the largest denominational organization for women, today announced a special podcast episode on Black History Month. Through its Faith Talks podcast, the organization will highlight Black women across the diaspora, detailing their struggles and victories. Hosted by author and public relations consultant Jennifer R. Farmer, the conversation will be recorded live on Thursday, Feb. 3 at 2:00 p.m. ET. Guests include Nancy Hagans, RN, and president of the New York State Nurses Association; Judith Cutchin, RN, and executive committee member of the New York State Nurses Association; Dr. Chioma Oruh, founder and principal consultant at ChiBorn Free; Ruth Jeonnel, a doula and Haitian-American immigrant; and Dr. Baranda Fermin, interim executive director and lead pastor, Life in Deep Ellum. It is wonderful to be a part of an organization that concerns itself with faith and the triumphs and struggles of different communities, Farmer said. Understanding our communal history is essentialartt in generating awareness and empathy.. I am delighted to be in conversation with Methodist women on this topic. Well focus on Black history and the plight of Black women today.
