Israel has released 550 Palestinian prisoners in the second stage of a deal with Hamas that brought home Israeli soldier Gilad Shalit after five years of captivity in the Gaza Strip. Israel's Supreme Court paved the way for the release by rejecting a petition on Friday from Israelis who were opposed.
