Last year, Madisons Mustapha Drammeh and friends set out on a campaign to feed over 300 families in three regions in The Gambia in just under just 90 days during the COVID-19 pandemic. This year, they have started a campaign and a GoFundMe to revitalize the urban infrastructure and to transform Brikama Nema into a model city for development in the West Coast region of the Gambia by 2025

The Beyond the Return programme will partner with the local diaspora community to plant trees in support of the Green Ghana project. The initiative, championed by the Ministry of Lands and Natural Resources and the Forestry Commission, would see five million trees planted across Ghana. The project is to help protect watersheds, reduce erosion and moderate the climate, and serve as habitat and provide food for many birds and other wildlife.

The Smithsonians National Museum of African American History and Culture (NMAAHC) is hosting a day of events exploring African American cultural traditions to commemorate Juneteenth, the holiday marking the dayJune 19, 1865that Union troops arrived in Galveston, Texas, and freed enslaved African Americans there some two and a half years after President Abraham Lincoln signed the Emancipation Proclamation. The holiday is part of a tradition of festivals commemorating the end of slavery, African American contributions to American life and freedom itself. One of the most heartening aspects of Indias heartbreaking struggle with the deadly second wave of the Covid-19 pandemic has been the outpouring of support from the Indian diaspora. In the United Kingdom (UK), an independent Gofundme campaign organised by British Indians exceeded its initial goal of raising 160,000 to purchase 200 oxygen concentrators in just one day. The India Philanthropy Alliance comprising 14 diaspora groups in the United States (US) working toward humanitarian and development goals in India has raised millions of dollars in Covid relief.
