While he wont start college until the fall, Crispe, of Danby, is director of the East Poultney Jewish Cemetery Restoration Project, an effort that saw a neglected, nearly forgotten Hebrew cemetery in Poultney restored in early June.

Two days ago in Haifa, a city where Palestinian Arabs comprise 10% of the population, the municipality placed a sign in one of the parks in the French Carmel neighborhood to remind people who have dogs to close the gates. The sign is written in Hebrew, English and Russian, but not Arabic, thus excluding the Palestinian Arabic-speaking residents that live in the neighborhood.

MIDDLEBURY, Vt. - The Middlebury School of Hebrew has received a $1.17 million donation from the Jack, Joseph and Morton Mandel Supporting Foundation to support the graduate study of leading teachers in the field of Hebrew education at Jewish day schools. The gift will fund 30 fellowships over a period of four years for students enrolled in the master's program in teaching Hebrew as a second language at the Middlebury School of Hebrew, one of 12 Middlebury Language Schools.
