Cornell University and the Technion-Israel Institute of Technology will partner to build an applied sciences campus in New York City that officials hope will transform the metropolis into a center for entrepreneurship and technology innovation to rival California's Silicon Valley. In a news conference, Mayor Michael Bloomberg announced that the schools' proposal had been selected in the multi-billion-dollar competition. Israel's Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Danny Ayalon explains the historical facts relating to the issue of refugees in the Israeli Palestinian conflict. The video explains the reason there are still refugees after more than six decades is because of Arab leaders' recalcitrance to accept their brethren and the United Nations which created a separate agency with unique principles and criteria. The video also highlights the issue of the Jewish refugees who were forced out of their homes in the Arab world, and were subsequently absorbed by the State of Israel.

While the Arab Spring has brought winds of positive change, the destiny of the whole region now hangs on the issue of Palestine, insists politician Mustafa Barghouti, a Palestinian MP and the president of the Palestinian National Initiative. Currently, the Palestinian bid for statehood is deadlocked with the US obstructing a UN Security Council vote on the issue. America's pressure appears to be bearing fruit -- on the other hand, European governments cannot be seen to be going against their own people, whose sympathies lie with Palestine.
