The Jewish Sports Hall of Fame of Northern California, a nonprofit celebrating Jewish achievement in athletic pursuits from billiards to baseball (to broadcasting), is seeking high school applicants for a series of athletic scholarships to be awarded this year. The scholarships, usually ranging from $2,000 to $2,500 dependent on revenue, are given to Jewish student-athletes who have demonstrated excellence in both athletics and academics; or who have shown sports prowess alongside a strong commitment to the Jewish community; or who have overcome obstacles in their lives en route to becoming an inspiring role model for other athletes.

Man arrested over north London attacks on Jewish people – The Independent

A man has been charged in connection with a string of antisemitic attacks in London. The Metropolitan Police have charged Abdullah Qureshi, from West Yorkshire, who will appear in court on Saturday. The 28-year-old was arrested on suspicion of the allegedly unprovoked attacks across North London in broad daylight, which left a grandfather with facial injuries.

The mayor of Amsterdam announced on Thursday that she had begun discussions to turn over a painting by the Russian abstract artist Wassily Kandinsky to the heirs of a Jewish couple who had owned the work before the Nazi takeover of the Netherlands. The work, Painting With Houses, was acquired during an auction in 1940 by David Rell, director of the Stedelijk Museum, which is responsible for the City of Amsterdams present-day art collection of about 95,000 works. Though it is unclear who decided to sell the painting, the auction took place just months after the Nazi invasion and the Stedelijk has acknowledged it is possible that this had been an involuntary sale.
