South African President, Jacob Zuma, on Thursday, said he had raised an Inter- Ministerial Task team to help manage the synagogue building collapse in Nigeria, in which 67 South Africans died. Zuma made the disclosure on the occasion of the Presidential Local Government Summit 2014, taking place in Midrand, Johannesburg. He said, The task team will support families and do whatever is necessary to manage the impact of this tragedy.

Wife of President, Patience Jonathan, has commiserated with families of the victims of the collapsed building at the Synagogue Church of All Nations at Ikotun Egbe, Lagos A statement by her media assistant, Ayo Adewuyi, said she was moved by the news that majority of those who died were women and children. She also expressed sadness over the incident and offered her condolences to the families of the victims and the General Overseer of the church, Pastor T.B. Joshua.
