Thunder Mountain Republican Womens Club monthly luncheon meeting will be called to order at 11 a.m., Tuesday, Feb. 26, 2013, at Pueblo del Sol Country Club, 2770 St. Andrews Drive. Speakers: Tom Crosby, Chairman of Legislative District 14. LD14 is the new Legislative District covering all of Cochise County. Every Wednesday from Jan. 23 through April 10, the Cochise College Center for Lifelong Learning hosts Lunch Lecture Wednesdays on the Sierra Vista campus in the Community Outreach Building, Room 702, from 12:10 to 1 p.m., that is free and open to the public. On Wednesday, Feb. 27 the Center for Lifelong Learning will host a presentation of India Tigers and Other Wildlife with Perrie Barnes. American Cancer Society night is Feb. 28 from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. at Chilis in Sierra Vista. With each flyer presented, Chilis will donate 15 percent of the sales you bring in to yourorganization.

Tune in Feb. 28 from 7-8 a.m., Cherry Creek Radio 1420 AM, and listen to former prisoner, now a businessman, who will share his insight on personal struggles and childhood trauma that is commonly experienced by people who end up going to prison. The Buena High School Social Studies Department will present a free film on Thursday, Feb. 28, in the pod across from the clock in the lobby at Buena. Titled Prince Among Slaves, this award winning film is an inspiring look into American history and there will be a discussion after the film with the audience. The whole community is invited. The film starts at 6:30 p.m. It is 60 minuteslong.

The VFW Post 9972 will have a catfish fry on March 1 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Catfish, cod and roast beef are on the menu. Cost is $9 per person, open to members and their guests.
