The Tombstone Chapter Daughters of the American Revolution will host its monthly meeting on Saturday, Nov. 16, at the Sierra Vista United Methodist Church at the corner of Buffalo Soldier and St. Andrews Drive. The meeting begins at 10:30 a.m. with social time at 10 a.m. Joe Larson will present the program on the Missing in America Project. The Sierra Vista Symphony is having a Rhinestone Cowboy Gala, Saturday Nov. 16, 2013 at the Windemere Hotel. There will be cocktails, a silent auction, live auction, a candlelight dinner and entertainment. Wear your favorite denim and bling ordressyattire.

The Friends of the San Pedro River will conduct interpretive walks along the river Saturdays at 9 a.m. on Nov. 16, 23, and 30. All walks depart from the San Pedro House, 9800 Highway 90, east of Sierra Vista at the river. The San Pedro River features some of the richest wildlife habitat in the United States. Here youll find 82 species of mammals, dozens of reptiles and amphibians and nearly 350 species of birds The river has been designated one of the Last Great Places by the Nature Conservancy. There is no charge for the walks; however, donations are accepted to support the docent programs. Dress appropriately for the weather, bring drinking water, trail shoes or similar footwear, a hat, and use sun protection. The Friends of the San Pedro River offer a history walk to Millville on Nov. 16 at 9 a.m. The Millville and Petroglyphs history walk will visit the ruins of the Corbin and Gird mills, which processed silver ore from Tombstone during the silver boom there. The walk is about one and a half miles and will take about two hours. Please wear good walking shoes and a hat. Bring water and a snack. Meet at 9 a.m., at the Millville parking area (not the Charleston Bridge parking area), one-quarter mile east of the Charleston Road Bridge over the river, midway between Tombstone and Sierra Vista.
