Avrom Leshtsh [Le scaron; #269;] (Raseyn 1932).wmv RASYN (now: RASEINIAI), an old Lithuanian town, is best known to readers of Yiddish literature from Chaim Grade #39;s classic "Mayn krig mit Hirsh Rasyner" (which we read here together in Vilnius several years ago in the Dr. Sheine Sideraite Reading Circle at the Jewish community, co-chaired by the late Israel Lempert, who provided profound commentary on the story). TODAY in Vilnius, the last known Rasyner is Reb Avrom Le scaron; #269; (Leshch), who is gabay of the Choral Synagogye on Pylimo Street (Zavalna).
