A group of roughly 20 men and women entered a London synagogue early today, shouting "Kill the Jews," attacking the young worshippers inside and smashing windows.
The shocking attack on the the Stamford Hill synagogue has led to six arrests today, on suspicion of public order offences and assault, police said.
Young worshippers had been celebrating the end of the sabbath at the Ahavas Torah synagogue and were forced to defend themselves with chairs. One young man was allegedly beaten outside the synagogue, before being chased inside.
A graphic video has emerged on Youtube capturing part of the incident, which London police are treating as "an anti-Semitic incident" as a result of the comment made by members of the group.
The London police said there was no evidence the attack was either planned or targeted, and said it appeared the attackers had walked to the synagogue from a house party nearby.
"There is no suggestion that this was a far-right or extremist attack but rather the completely unacceptable actions of a drunken group," the Metropolitan police said in a statement.
"We are investigating to establish the full circumstances of the incident and to identify anyone else involved in the disturbance who has not yet been arrested, Inspector Jonathan Waterfield said. "We have also increased police patrols in the Stamford Hill area to provide reassurance to the community."

This is the moment a group of 20 drunken thugs stormed a synagogue before hurling anti-Semitic abuse including 'Kill the Jews' at young worshippers inside.
The dramatic brawl broke out after the group forced their way into the Ahavas Torah synagogue in Stamford Hill, north London, where young people were marking the end of the sabbath.
The attack, which led tofour men and two women being arrested, comes amid concerns about an increase of anti-Semitic attacks across Europe.
A Jewish patrol group, which works to reduce violence against Jews, said it had stepped up patrols in the area.

Shocking video footage has emerged of the moment up to 20 drunken youths attacked a synagogue in Stamford Hill, north London early Sunday.
In the video a group of Jewish people inside the Avahas Torah synagogue are shown attempting to barricade the doors and arm themselves with makeshift weapons as members of a mob outside try to force their way in.
A member of the congregation said the group ripped up prayer books and chanted "we will kill you" at worshippers. According to the Jerusalem Post a passing man tried to restrain one of the youths and was punched in the face, losing a tooth.
At one point in the video two women, who seem to be with the hooligans, come to the door and apologize for the actions of their friends. However, a few moments later another window is smashed, showering those inside with broken glass.
Police later arrested six people on various charges including public order and assault, and are treating the attack as anti-Semitic due to comments made by one of the thugs.
A Metropolitan Police spokesman confirmed that a number of men entered the synagogue on Craven Park Road in the early hours of Sunday morning before being ejected by security staff.
"The incident is being treated as an anti-Semitic incident, due to remarks made by one of the group," said the spokesman. "However, there is nothing to suggest that it was a planned or targeted attack."
Police believe the group had left a house party nearby and are suspected of being drunk.
"We are investigating to establish the full circumstances of the incident and to identify anyone else involved in the disturbance who has not yet been arrested," said Inspector Jonathan Waterfield.
"We have also increased police patrols in the Stamford Hill area to provide reassurance to the community."

A group of men tried to break into a synagogue overnight in north London in an antisemitic incident, police have said.
Officers were called at about 1.15am to a disturbance in Craven Park Road, Stamford Hill, Scotland Yard said.
A group of men, who were believed to have walked to the area from a house party nearby, tried to gain access to the building. One man who tried to prevent the group from entering sustained facial injuries, not believed to be serious, and was taken to hospital for treatment.
Some of the men did briefly gain entry to the synagogue before being removed by security staff.
A Metropolitan police spokesman said: The incident is being treated as an antisemitic incident, due to remarks made by one of the group. However, there is nothing to suggest that it was a planned or targeted attack.
Six men were arrested for public order offences and assault. All were taken to a north London police station where they were held in custody.
Insp Jonathan Waterfield said: We are investigating to establish the full circumstances of the incident and to identify anyone else involved in the disturbance who has not yet been arrested.
We have also increased police patrols in the Stamford Hill area to provide reassurance to the community.
The Community Security Trust, which monitors antisemitic incidents, tweeted: We are aware of alleged antisemitic assault at synagogue in Stamford Hill & are working w. Police & community. Suspects have been arrested.

Seven Jewish siblings who were killed in a devastating New York house fire over the weekend were being laid to rest on Monday after being flown to Israel for burial.
Dozens of mourners, including the chief rabbi of Israel, attended the emotional service, which was repeatedly interrupted by anguished cries.
Why seven? Seven beautiful lilies, their father, Gabriel Sasson, cried out during a eulogy. So pure. So pure.
The bodies of the Sassoon siblings, age d five to 16, were flown to Israel overnight from New York and whisked away to Jerusalem in a convoy escorted by police.
The bodies, wrapped in shrouds, were displayed on stretchers for a memorial service in a room crowded with dozens of mourners. After the service, they were to be buried at Jerusalems main cemetery.
David Lau, Israels chief rabbi for Ashkenazi or European Jews, described the fire as an unspeakable tragedy and urged the family to remain strong. Each one is a flower in Gods garden, he said.
The fire has shattered the ultra-Orthodox Jewish community in the Midwood neighborhood of Brooklyn. Investigators believe it was caused when a hot plate, left on for the Jewish Sabbath, malfunctioned, setting off flames that incinerated the stairs of their home, trapping the children in their second-floor bedrooms as they slept.
The blaze killed three girls and four boys. Both the mother and a daughter Gayle Sassoon and 14-year-old Siporah Sassoon remain in critical condition.
The tragedy had some reconsidering the practice of keeping hot plates on for the Sabbath, a common modern method of obeying tradition prohibiting the use of fire on the holy day.
