Columbus School for Girls, CSG: All Girl, By Design, A Celebration of Student Learning for Prospective and Current CSG Families, 1 to 3 p.m. Jan. 26, at the school, 56 S. Columbia Ave. Parents and prospective students preschool age through grade 12 are invited, as well as current CSG families, to attend this celebration highlighting CSG's curriculum and programs. Jewish Community Center of Greater Columbus, Murder Mystery Dinner Theatre event, 7 p.m. Feb. 1, at the JCC, 1125 College Ave. Cloak and Dagger will perform its SpyBall: Death of a Secret Agent dinner theater. After a cocktails and appetizer hour featuring a cash bar, a four-course kosher buffet-style dinner will be served at 8 p.m. as part of the interactive performance. Ohio Dominican University, College Goal Sunday, 2 p.m. Feb. 9, in Erskine Hall on the university's main campus, 1216 Sunbury Road. The free program is designed to help students apply for federal financial aid, with financial aid professionals available to answer questions. Volunteers will help students and parents complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid. J Street, launch of Columbus chapter with a book club-style discussion, 7 p.m. Feb. 10, at the Columbus Jewish Community Center, 1125 College Ave. The Columbus chapter of the national pro-Israel, pro-peace movement, will consider Israeli columnist Ari Shavit's bestseller, My Promised Land. The event will be moderated by Ohio State history professor Robin Judd and will be co-sponsored by the Jewish Community Center of Greater Columbus and the Melton Center for Jewish Studies of The Ohio State University. The chapter is being co-chaired by Isaiah Shalwitz and Cantor Jack Chomsky and Ted Fisher will lead the group's political activities. The event is open to the public.
Concord Counseling Services, fourth annual He'ART of Concord art show and sale, 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Feb. 13, at 700 Brooksedge Blvd., Westerville. This free event, open to the public, will showcase art in numerous media from more than 20 clients and friends of Concord. Original paintings, photographs, drawings, fabric art, jewelry and pottery will be included. Artists who are clients of Concord receive all proceeds of any pieces sold. All Saints Episcopal Church in New Albany, Holy Land Tour from Sept. 6-13. Only 40 reservations will beaccepted and minimal deposits must be recieved on or before March 1. AARP Foundation Senior Community Service Employment Program assists unemployed Franklin, Delaware and Licking county workers age 55 and over with securing employment. The program offers paid work experience, specialized training, upgrading of skills and job-search assistance. Age, income and residency requirements apply.
