This document serves the purpose of obtaining Portuguese Citizenship (Nationality), and taking into account the provisions of Decree-Law n 30-A/2015 of 27 of February, the Jewish Community of Oporto (CIP) is issuing this CERTIFICATE that successfully brought about a positive conviction of the applicant identified above and that he is a direct descendant of the Sephardic Portuguese Jews and that he still has strong ties belonging to Portugal, this conviction was based on the evidence provided by the applicant, critically written pleadings with determined the material or throughout the evaluation process.

This conviction, regarding this applicant was formed based on information gathered by the CIP which demonstrates that he holds to this day an actual relationship with the Sephardic Jewish Community of Portugal in Turkey. His family still speaks Ladino and his mother is a descendant of the Grand Rabbi of Lisbon, Jacob Jon Habib, who fled from Portugal in the late fifteenth century and established family branches in Thessaloniki and Gallipoli. The means of documentary evidence relating to this case is filed by the Jewish Community of Oporto (CIP), and can be consulted at all times by the relevant competent authorities.
